April 5, 2018, I turned 24, and even though I can see my lines are multiplying on my face, I felt wonderful that another year has been added to my life. I treated my birthday as if it was a normal day, as if nothing’s special about it, as if it’s just a mere social construct (even maybe it could be partly true) but it is different this time. How can anyone’s birthday be a normal day? A blessing to someone was born on this day and it deserves to be celebrated. Aside from the fact that everything in my life is flowing smoothly lately, I cannot thank God enough for another year that He added to my life. This just means that He gave me more wonderful people to meet, He brought me another year of great memories, and He offered me the love that I deserved. My last birthday didn’t turn out well and I can say that this year is much more better than last year! (Yes, redundant because this year is really awesoooome!) This day was filled with love and warm greetings from the people I love. This day has become more intimate with my family and closest friends. I am thankful that I am entitled for a birthday leave so I can fully celebrate my day. I intended to set an appointment with my dentist for teeth cleaning this day so I can have something to do this day. I also ran some of my errands and I bought art supplies sponsored by my brother from US. (To my brother Gelo, if you’re reading this, thank you so much! I’ve been wanting to buy expensive art supplies but it’s just not within my budget so thank you for sponsoring those on my birthday). I also bought the things I need and had lunch with my sister. I decided to eat at Max’s so I can get free scoop of ice cream and to have someone sing Happy Birthday to me (Logic, right? Lol) I almost cried when they brought out the cake that my sister surprisingly bought for me while they’re singing a very upbeat happy birthday song. It was also funny at the same time because the crews were dancing and doing chicken-dance-steps. It was really funny in a good way because they made my day! I am also thankful to my eldest sister for celebrating my birthday with me. On the evening, my friend, Shalom, visited me. We had dinner together and she also brought a gift (which I truly liked) and a cake! Also, someone really special to me made my day extra special. Even though we’re far from each other, he didn’t fail to surprise me and to make me happy. But wait, there’s more! My birthday didn’t end on that day because on April 7, I celebrated again my birthday with the rest of my family. It was really fun and I became extra happy because my nephew was there with us. He really gives me good vibes every time I see his smile. Every time I see him, all the stress that I feel fades away. Someone really close to my heart also visited me after his work. We had dinner with his friends and went to Tagaytay to have some drinks. Well, being 24 isn’t bad at all. All we have to do is enjoy life and keep on moving forward.
