I was really in a bad mood on this day. I didn’t get enough sleep, I was late, and wasn’t able to warm up before the run. It was a total disaster! I had a major fight with someone the night before the run. I even rented a place in Alabang so I could get enough rest but it ended up into a huge nightmare. I barely even slept. Maybe I only had 2 hours of sleep because of that fight. And then, since there is no UBER here in the Philippines anymore because the Philippine Government is very good at everything especially on how they will run the system (insert sarcasm here), I took GRAB instead. But unfortunately for me, I was late because the driver didn’t know where we’re going even if we already had an e-navigation. Uhm, hello, Waze? The driver even depended on me like, hello? The reason why I always book a ride with Uber is because I suck at commuting in Metro Manila/ Manila and that I depend my trip on the drivers. It totally pissed me off. When I’ve reached the starting line, since I was late, I was not able to get the freebies that can only be received during the start of the race; like the sunglasses and colored powder. I had too much and I was already on my boiling point, and instead of having a “fun” run, my blood was really rushing out of anger and I ran the pain and madness away. I was so mad that I was hoping running could give me some endorphins but it turned out, it gave me more angst. I finished the 5km run within utmost 40 minutes which usually takes me for about an hour to finish; which I think is good I guess, but it doesn’t really matter even if I think it was fast because again, lucky me, I was late. I wasn’t also able to take a picture, not even one, during the event. Well, good thing, a conciliatory freebie was given at the end of the race. There was a loot bag with freebies in it but since the run was hosted by Crayola, and the market of event was for kids, the bag contained stuff mostly for kids like a color paper, a Crayola, snack bars, and so on. What I liked the most is the medal which I photographed on a different date, in a different location. To add something for this blog, I didn’t like how Crayola handled the customers. The race kit was only delivered to me 2 days before the race, and there were many participants complaining on the group that they haven’t received the race kits yet as well, and nobody didn’t even care to respond even if we already tagged “Crayola Philippines” on our posts. Also, they had two (2) event groups which was managed by two different parties. I think Crayola hired a third-party agency who handled one group and the other one was handled by Crayola itself. When I asked about the race kit, I received different answers from e-mail, from messenger, and from a reply comment on one of the group’s post. Their copies for each post about the date of sending the race kit is also confusing. They are very confusing. I searched and this is not the first time that Crayola hosted a fun run, but I wonder why this kind of scenarios were not addressed properly. This gave me a feeling like it’s their first time to host a fun run, even if it’s not. When I first saw the ad about Crayola Color Dash, I told myself, Ohhh it looks like Color Run Manila. It looks exciting. But upon experiencing the event, I don’t know if I will still join this run next time. 80% of my heart tells me I shouldn’t, and 20% of my heart tells me that I still should just because I love running. All in all, I think this was a waste of time, money, and the stress I got from this cannot be replaced by any freebies this event could ever offer. SHARE THIS BLOG:
