PUERTO GALERA-- located in Oriental Mindoro, was once labeled as "One of the most beautiful bays in the world" and I couldn't agree more. I lived in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro for 3 years starting when I was in Second Grade up until my Fourth Grade, and in three years span, I was able to explore the beauty of Oriental Mindoro and one of those was Puerto Galera. That was a very long time ago and I decided to come back in that wonderful paradise because I still cannot forget how I enjoyed staying there, how beautiful the sceneries are, and how exciting the adventures are! I took advantage of the Holy Week so I could stay there for few more days and to make the most out of that place. PUERTO GALERA TRAVEL GUIDE (HOW TO GET THERE): I live in Laguna and getting to Batangas Port is quite easy for me. However, if you’ll be coming from Manila, all you have to do is go to Provincial Bus Terminals located in Cubao with a signage “CALABARZON, Batangas Pier/ Batangas Port” and the last stop of it would be directly at Batangas Port. Bus fare from Laguna to Batangas port is 87PHP but from Cubao, I think it’s around 120-150PHP. Upon reaching the Batangas Port, go straight to ATI Building, Terminal 3. When you reach Terminal 3, you will see people holding sign boards with “Puerto Galera” written on it. Approach that person and tell him which port you want to go and they will escort you to ticketing booth. There are two choices. One is white beach port, which is nearer from White Beach (of course) and other more famous beaches in Puerto Galera which has finer sands, and the other one is Sabang Port, which is more known in exciting activities like snorkeling and scuba diving. Boat fare is only 250PHP from Batangas Port to both White Beach and Sabang Port, and you can give a tip to the person who managed to get a ticket for you (they are like fixers, btw, if you want a less hassle ticket purchase). Since I already went to white beach before, I decided to go to Sabang to try other stuff like the abovementioned activities and to experience the floating bars. Whichever port or beach you decide to visit, hotels are walking distance from the port. There are also many people who will approach you to try their packaged activities so planning on what you can do for the day is not a hassle. WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO DO (ACTIVITIES & BUDGET):
